New tablet! Finally updated my from my small and trusty Intuos3 to the IntuosPro large. The differences are VAST. And it’s wireless! Mostly, I’m glad to be able to move my arm around when I’m drawing on this thing instead of depending only on my wrist.

Watching my roommate draw a cute robot girl the other day, so I gave it a shot too. Finally mastered the face.

Deliveries inbound! There’s work to be done on the background buildings, but I’m getting close to calling it done.

I posted versions of this message elsewhere, but I like my tumblr peoples a lot more than other places online, so here’s straight dope: After much planning, I finally relocated up to Washington state. Seattle to be more precise.
In Phoenix, I really enjoyed my job, my co-workers, but that was about it. Outside of work, I was extremely depressed each and every night after coming home from work. I felt I had almost no one to talk to and zero opportunities to make new friends. I came home to a cramped 3-bedroom apartment holding six people and still felt absolutely isolated. There were also struggles with reconnecting with my family, to whom I haven’t had strong ties for a few years now. Lastly, although I enjoyed my job, I wanted to branch out and grow professionally in my field which was proving impossible within the confines of Phoenix.
There were lots of reasons for the move.
Tl;dr version boils down to this: for various reasons, I was not very happy in Phoenix this past year and I needed change.
So here I am and I think it’s already done me some good just to get a change of scenery. Instead of desert, forest. Instead of cacti, trees. Instead of sun, rain.
If I’m honest I’m still not exactly happy. But I’ve upgraded to hopeful. That’s a start.
Thanks for reading, and wish me luck.
